PWC Truth Talk Podcast

Have you ever thought, “If I could just have the right relationship, make more money, gain people’s approval, or finally get everything under control, then I would feel complete”?

But what happens when you get what you thought you needed and still feel empty?

In this episode of the **PWC Truth Talk Podcast**, Steve Shannon and Pastor Chachi Kalaj talk about the “broken wells” we often return to when we are searching for love, value, peace, security, and identity.

Using **Jeremiah 2:13** and the story of Jesus offering living water in **John 4**, we explore an important truth: good things like relationships, success, money, approval, pleasure, and achievement were never designed to carry the weight of our identity.

### In this episode, we talk about:

* Why we keep returning to things that never truly satisfy us
* How relationships can become a source of identity
* Why success and achievement can still leave us empty
* The trap of people-pleasing and seeking approval
* How money, control, busyness, and perfectionism can become “broken wells”
* The difference between temporary comfort and lasting healing
* How to recognize what you have been depending on for your worth
* How Jesus gives us a deeper source of peace, love, belonging, and identity

Jesus told the Samaritan woman that whoever drinks ordinary water will become thirsty again, but the water He gives becomes a lasting source of life.

That same invitation is still available today.

You do not have to keep proving your value.

You do not have to find your identity in someone else’s approval.

You do not have to keep returning to something that leaves you thirsty.

**Temporary comfort is not the same as lasting healing.**

**Only Christ can satisfy the deepest needs of the heart.**

### Scriptures discussed:

Jeremiah 2:13
John 4:7–14
Psalm 63:1
Mark 8:34–36
Matthew 6:19–21
Ecclesiastes 2:10–11
John 14:27
Romans 5:8
Colossians 2:10

### A question to think about this week:

**What am I depending on to make me feel valuable?**

And what happens inside me when that thing is threatened or taken away?

Try praying:

**“Jesus, show me where I have been looking for something only You can give.”**

If this conversation encouraged you, share it with someone who may be searching for peace, identity, or hope in places that keep leaving them empty.

**You are not alone.**
**God is not finished with you.**
