What does it really mean to follow Jesus when faithfulness costs you something?
In this May 31st sermon from Pittsford Wesleyan Church, Pastor Chachi teaches from Mark 6:14–29, the story of John the Baptist, King Herod, and the cost of speaking the truth.
John sat in prison, but he was free in his soul. Herod sat on a throne, but he was trapped by fear, image, approval, and the opinions of others.
This message challenges us to ask a serious question: Would we rather have comfort, approval, and reputation… or truth, integrity, and faithfulness to Christ? Following Jesus is powerful, but it is not always safe. Faithfulness may cost us something, but avoiding faithfulness may cost even more.
