“Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” — 1 Peter 2:10
This verse reminds us that before we chose God, we were spiritually disconnected—no identity, no direction, no belonging. But through Jesus, everything changes. We are:
Chosen by God
Adopted into His family
Recipients of His mercy
Given purpose and identity
God didn’t just call individuals—He formed a people with a shared identity. Like Abram (Genesis 12), we’re invited to trust God and step into a bigger purpose.
“Be holy, because I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:16
Holiness isn't rule-following. It's about reflecting God’s heart—being loving, patient, truthful, pure, and just.
It’s not just about “do this, don’t do that.”
It’s about letting God’s character shape your thoughts, words, and actions.
Example: A child obeying out of love and trust—not fear—is a powerful picture of true holiness.
Choosing God transforms every part of your life:
You’re a child of God (2 Corinthians 5:17). Guilt is replaced with grace. Your life has direction.
You start forgiving more, serving more, and building unity (Colossians 3:12–14).
Like a body, each person matters—and needs the others (1 Corinthians 12).
God made you for something. You have unique gifts. Even in a small circle, your obedience can influence others.
You might be the only believer in your workplace, school, or home—and that matters.
Even Jesus had to obey through suffering (Philippians 2:8).
But obedience leads to growth and deep spiritual reward.
Example: Like physical training, obedience is tough at first—but builds strength over time.
Ask yourself:
Where do I need to choose God again?
Is it in your time, priorities, or relationships?
What area of my life needs deeper obedience?
What’s God asking you to surrender that you’ve been holding back?
Who could be impacted by my obedience this week?
Your life is a message. Someone’s watching your walk.
Write down one act of obedience God is prompting in your heart.
Share it with someone you trust.
Pray for courage—and follow through.
“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood…” — 1 Peter 2:9
You’re not just invited to believe in God—you’re invited to become part of His people. When you choose God, you’re choosing a new identity, a new path, and a purpose that lasts forever.
